Week 4 of the C100 Subway Summer Cruiser

Another week has come and gone and WOW was it a busy one!

Friday and Saturday we had the privilege of joining all the military families and enjoying DND family days! It was an absolute blast, and definitely a great way to show thanks to the families who give up time with their loved ones so they can serve our country!

We brought along tons of Scotsburn ice-cream with us because Friday and Saturday were true summer days and everyone needed a cold treat to cool them down! There so many fun things to do after the tasty ice-cream was finished with, We got to experience a boat ride of a life time and discovered what bubble boy must of felt like!

We also kept busy with the 30th annual Halifax Greek fest, and both of us are already dreaming of next years and yelling OPA! every chance we get. What an amazing community! The culture experience was amazing, we got to see performances of traditional greek dancing, indulge in delicious greek food and actually feel as if the Orthodox Greek church on Purcells Cove rd. was by the water in Greece.

Sunday we spent all day in the Valley, blasting music for the first ever Brigadoon's Wine and Dash at L'acadie Vineyards. This was insane and bot of us were insanely jealous of all the participants! They got to do a 10 mile run/ walk to visit 4 different vineyards to have some taste testing and food samples. All for a Brigadoon fundraiser to help raise awareness and funds for the amazing Camp!

As quickly as this last week went, it will be even faster that we're back driving around the community giving you a chance to win a brand new RV from BlueNose RV and the chance to get a subway lunch on C100! Because we want people to love their subs as much as we do

Full Time Hours!!

Hey everyone!!

We LOVE going to community events in HRM district because a) we're social butterflies and love to interact with everyone b) we love seeing communities come together to celebrate an event and finally c) usually there is a bouncy castle involved that we will take full advantage of!

That being said we are heading into our full time schedule for the summer (even though it hasn't been feeling like summer, are we right!?!) but we need you're help filling our schedule for the next few months!

We want to hear all about your runs, your community fairs, your street parties, even a friend of a friend of yours who's having a bbq to raise money for charity! Visit the community events page on the C100 website to fill us in, and we will try to make it to every single one of them!

Week 3 of the C100 Subway Summer Cruiser

The end of the weekend is never fun for anyone, everyone has to go back to work for the week. But for us its even more upsetting because we have to take a break from the station and all of the wonderful people we get to meet. Because let's face it we may just have one of the best jobs around, who wouldn't want to drive around meet new people and hand out free stuff!!

Luckily for us this weekend was so jammed packed of things we had to do, the joy that we got from doing all of our events will keep us running!

Friday we had a little bit of a road trip day! We travelled down to meet our friends at O'Regans on Kempt Road, We had the music blasting and may have devoured some of the cinnamon buns they were serving! But hey, we brought Scotsburn ice-cream so that equals out right?

After that we cranked up the radio (C100 of course) put down the windows and headed out on the wide open road to visit our good friends at BlueNose RV! The drive out to Bridgewater was breath taking, but the RV lot itself was pretty magnificent who knew there were so many different kind of Campers/Trailers/RV's!! We spent our time hanging out in the Coachman Clipper we are balloting off this summer and found out the answers to the most common question you guy's have been asking!!

1) Yes you need to tow the Coachmen Clipper it is not a drivable RV
2) No the sides do not pop out for more bed space
3) Yes it is just as fantastic as we have been describing
4) and finally Yes this ballot box is something YOU NEED to be entered into!! (Its an amazing trailer, it's even better than Delaney's apartment)

For everyone participating in the Boys and Girls Capitol One Race for Kids..... You rock! Everyone was so happy and willing to tough out the rain for the cause. And for those of you who took Scotsburn ice-cream at our check-in, you guys are the true ice-cream heroes! If you are willing to indulge in the cold frozen bar of heavenly goodness in the pouring down rain you deserve some sort of dedication award!

Later that day we had the pleasure of meeting the founder of East Coast Lifestyle Alex at his store grand opening. The store was lined up around the building waiting to be some of the first people inside the brand new store! We hung out with fine guys of Flip Burger who were handing out the East Coast Lifestyle burger to all of the customers and we brought the dessert!

Next on the agenda we headed out to the Prospect Community centre to help ring in their 5th anniversary! Their community may just be one of the nicest communities in all of HRM, everyone was so friendly and proud of the growth of their community.

Sunday the Sun graced us with it's presence thankfully!! We headed out to Kidney Walk at De'Wolfe park first thing in the morning. We got the absolute pleasure of meeting Greg, who is an avid part of the Kidney Foundation of Halifax and we were so happy he took the time to tell us his transplant story! He was one of the lucky ones to receive a kidney from a very generous donor, and that donor went on to save 8 more people with his organs! It was such an inspirational story that brightened up our Sunday morning and gave us all those good feelings!

We jumped back in the Subway Summer Cruiser and headed down to the water front for the rest of the morning to take part in the Gutsy walk for Chrons and Colitis disease! They had lots for the participants to do and even the people walking past. Our favourite part was definitely the photo booth they had.. or maybe the live music! All the talented musicians that played made it a tough call!! It was such a fun afternoon, we hung out by the water front getting to talk with many brave people currently finding ways to deal with the horrible disease, handing out ice-cream and just taking in the scenery!

After that we headed down to the Portland Multifest street party, and if we could close our eyes and imagine what a street party would look like.. this definitely surpassed it! What a great way to get you community out and meeting their neighbours! It was so much fun!

After each weekend we both come away feeling inspired and empowered by all of the amazing people we meet. We can't thank you guys enough for managing to make our day every single time we are out at an event! Is it next weekend yet?
